Study: There is more diversity of beliefs on the political right than on the left (U.S.)

In this study by the British Journal of Social Psychology, US adults were polled on their attitudes towards a number of political issues, as well as their party affiliation.

The results showed that the views of those on the left were closely clustered, those on the right were more varied and included a wider range of beliefs and attitudes.
