So an update is planned for it then.

Would VRR work with any software on the system or does it only work with compatible software which supports it ? 

I'm guessing here but think it's more a setting in the hardware's output so would be active regardless of the game as it's the display refresh rate trying to stay matched to the game's framerate, I could be wrong though.
