In non lay off relayed news, helldivers 2 is coming to Xbox in August.

Reportedly the contraband trailer has been removed from the Xbox YouTube channel today. If true I guess that ones been quietly cancelled.

And they wait until the day after all the lay offs, to announce it.
That seems like a "yeah we know its bad, but hey, look at this flower! isn't it pretty?".
It comes across as a distraction tactic or something.

Proton goes really, really far. If you can't play a game on the Steam Deck, it's more likely to be because the hardware isn't strong enough than being a compatibility problem, unless it's one of those games with bad anticheat yadda yadda.

Whats crazy is that windows is so bloated, that even translating code, with the overhead that brings, can work out better than running on windows sometimes. There are videos of people testing games on SteamOS (linux based) and where they out perform native windows runs.

I've been tempted to try switching out, often enough, but linux just seems too much of a hassle.
If Steam get their OS right, and ease of use.... I'm all there for it.

Modern Linux distros made with ease of use in mind like Linux Mint are really no harder to use than Windows, sometimes even easier. If you use AMD you don't even have to worry about drivers, the kernel already has that sorted out. I've seen people complaining about drivers in Windows PC handhelds, citing them as one big hurdle that stops those handhelds from having a console-like experience even if you can get over the Windows UI, but I never had to think about drivers in my Steam Deck or AMD PC.
