Whats crazy is that windows is so bloated, that even translating code, with the overhead that brings, can work out better than running on windows sometimes. There are videos of people testing games on SteamOS (linux based) and where they out perform native windows runs. |
Modern Linux distros made with ease of use in mind like Linux Mint are really no harder to use than Windows, sometimes even easier. If you use AMD you don't even have to worry about drivers, the kernel already has that sorted out. I've seen people complaining about drivers in Windows PC handhelds, citing them as one big hurdle that stops those handhelds from having a console-like experience even if you can get over the Windows UI, but I never had to think about drivers in my Steam Deck or AMD PC.
