Yes, in my experience I've not encountered any game that doesn't work on Steam Deck except for the ones using certain anti-cheats.
EA Anti-cheat doesn't work. (Battlefield, EA FC etc)
Battleye Anti-cheat doesn't work (Destiny 2, GTA Online) (Fortnite apparently uses a combination of Battleye and Easy Anti-Cheat)
Easy Anticheat games, like the recently released Rematch, typically work on Steam Deck
Outside of anticheat issues game compatibility is very, very good. If you don't want a PlayStation or Xbox but still want a console like experience steamos is definitely the way to go at the moment for most people.
