Give or take. I love my Steam Deck, but the biggest crutch though is that it's built on top of Linux. An OS that is not very widely adopted in game development. And their Proton compatibility layer can only go so far.

So you would have to come around to the thought that you're not going to be able to play everything or you'll have to find a workaround. Especially on other launchers or games that incorporate anti-cheat.

Proton goes really, really far. If you can't play a game on the Steam Deck, it's more likely to be because the hardware isn't strong enough than being a compatibility problem, unless it's one of those games with bad anticheat yadda yadda.

Yes, in my experience I've not encountered any game that doesn't work on Steam Deck except for the ones using certain anti-cheats.

EA Anti-cheat doesn't work. (Battlefield, EA FC etc)
Battleye Anti-cheat doesn't work (Destiny 2, GTA Online) (Fortnite apparently uses a combination of Battleye and Easy Anti-Cheat)

Easy Anticheat games, like the recently released Rematch, typically work on Steam Deck

Outside of anticheat issues game compatibility is very, very good. If you don't want a PlayStation or Xbox but still want a console like experience steamos is definitely the way to go at the moment for most people.
