A part of this is the PS5 had a significantly better first couple years than the PS4. It took a while for the latter to hit its stride first party wise but when it did it was consistently strong till the end of the gen. The PS5 has been overall weak on that front since 2023 but by the end of 2022 you already had a few big releases and some smaller ones backing them up. A slow start before hitting your stride is probably better for this than starting off strong but then falling off since most people buy a console in its middle years anyway.
