When your daughter asks you to buy something in order to spend time together, you will find the words of strangers, particularly those of the mean-spirited, cowardice variety who would never speak even a single ill syllable to your face, rather meaningless.

It's your principles that your daughter overruled. It's not the words of strangers that she rendered meaningless, it's your principles.

They weren't my principles. They were my opinions. My only principle when it comes to video games is that I overwhelmingly favor physical media to digital and only buy the latter when there are no other options, and the game looks like its worth playing. Other than that, what you're calling my principles are just my opinions on any given day, and I literally couldn't care less what you or anyone else thinks about them. Likewise, who I am is defined by myself, not by a bunch of angry internet avatars and user names. So you can have at it if it gets you off, but it's not going to matter to me.
