The wars the last 4 and a half decades have all been fought exclusively by predominantly religious countries, often for religious or nationalistic differences. Only one of the predominantly irreligious countries listed in this thread (China, Japan, Sweden, Czech Republic, Australia, New Zealand, Norway, Belgium, Estonia, and Denmark) have engaged in any wars of aggression since World War 2 - that country being China which has not been at war since the Vietnam War in the 1970s.
Meanwhile, the countries most at risk for starting World War 3 are those in the Middle East, Russia, and the US. All of whom have governments elected or enforced by the religious extremist right.
