That was a pretty low point for them that they managed to dig themselves out of but it shows that even the strongest companies are mortal. I'd say Nintendo has one of the highest 'life expectancies' in the industry given their track record and culture but all it can take is one bad leader (or the departure of good ones) to send a company into a downward spiral. 

WiiU was a bigger self inflicted abomination than Gamecube.
