Apparently Sony is considering an acquisition of WBD's streaming and gaming assets after the company is divided.

It would be one of the few acquisitions that would elevate Sony to an entirely different goliath in the entertainment industry. It would transform their gaming business, with the likes of Hogwarts, Batman, Lego, and Mortal Kombat added to the portfolio, Sony Pictures will finally be on the level of Disney or Netflix, with their own streaming service, and they don't have to worry about the piles of debt from their cable business.

If Sony hasn't entered the tv streaming yet (I know they have Core), I doubt they are now. It doesn't seem worth the investment for that imho.

If they're looking to acquire the game IP and studios, then that is something I can see happening. MK and NRS seems like a viable catch. I think RockSteady could be a good get. Ignore the Batman IP and the price that comes with that and just get them on a Marvel IP if they want to work on comic material.

I love their streaming service strat of just not having one lol (besides Crunchy anyway but that is a great business). Keep licensing your movies to others, the market is saturated enough with netflix, disney, max and prime. Paramount isn't making money from it and Warner is losing it.

Hopefully they restrain and just focus in MK, NRS and Rocksteady. Staying away of more licenses, we already have enough of those ... although, if the streets rumor of a Batman beyond game was true and it doesn't look weirdly hyper realistic they better save it lol, I loved that show as a kid.
