nah it was everyone on the internet. And it is overpriced, that's objective. But just because millions of people are upset about the price that doesn't mean there aren't millions of other people ready to pick it up day 1. Also I'm sure there are plenty people who are not happy about the price but picked it up anyway. Being overpriced and having a huge launch are not mutually exclusive. The real question is are sales still booming later on in it's lifecycle. The launch was always gonna be ridiculous because so many people were waiting for it.

All three of the systems that were successors to 150+ million selling systems have been overpriced cuz the companies got greedy after such dominant successes, but of the three S2 is probably the least overpriced and also the most desirable, and also it's coming out mid-gen against the consoles so that helps since it's the only new thing around for years before and after.

Anyway, the fact that it absolutely demolished every previous system launch is awesome, and even more crazy is that it did that despite being overpriced and pretty much everyone being pissed off about the greedy pricing! Clearly there was a lot of pent up demand for next gen Nintendo after 8 years of arguably the most popular system ever.

$450 is not an excessive price for a new gaming system in 2025, the console standard has been $500 for years now.

Yeah, people need to learn the difference between what is objectively "overpriced" and something deemed "too expensive", as they are two different things.

The PS3 was too expensive for many at $599 in 2006, but it certainly was not overpriced for what you were getting at the time.

And Switch 2 hardware is also not overpriced for its tech and functionality in 2025.
