I totally agree with everyone's sentiments on the console itself, as well as the pro-controller, looking and feeling very premium. The size and weight feel great and there are many qol improvements across the board. I love the pro controller. The new joycon are definitely a step up from the original, at least in feel, but time will tell whether potential drift issues are a thing of the past.
Quite disappointing however, is the dock. It is obvious that the money was indeed put into the console, with nothing left to put towards the dock. IMO, it looks and feels cheap.
- The chintzy back cover plate that barely pops on would have been better kept robust and hinged, like the og.
- a cable management option to have cables route to either side or out the back instead of only to the right side, so it could be displayed any way the owner wanted, would have been nice.
- It gains an ethernet port which is great for those that use wired, but loses a usb which I think could be an inconvenience for some. I kept the controller charger permanently plugged into the inside usb, leaving the external 2 available for keyboard, wireless headset etc.
- A minor thing as it's only cosmetic, but an led back lit logo or some kind of snazzy led when on would have looked nicer than the bare bones look it has.
- The most egregious offense to me, is the amount of back and forth play of the console in the dock itself. The og tolerances had a nice "sturdy" fit, while the Sw2 just floats around in it, which feels cheap and makes me wonder if port damage could be an issue over time with those less careful.
Anyone else have similar thoughts/gripes or maybe I'm being nit picky?
