And all Playstations and Xbox's are iterative updates to each other.
In the end, even Google agrees with me. Haha

Yeah definitely a lack of games on launch. - Mario Kart World is the only standout. * Games like Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom are good, but they are just re-releases with minor enhancements, not worth a re-purchase over. * The LCD display has garbage colour, blacks and contrasts over the outgoing OLED model. It's HDR is fake as it doesn't have local dimming zones. * The game cart situation is still crap. (Code in a box, Game Key Cards, Carts and Digital, plus some Switch 1 games get free updates, others need to pay a fee) * Poor Battery Life.
And that is literally the only gripes to be had, which is small and inconsequential... And leaves a ton of room for an improved updated variant in a few years time. (Which I will also buy.) But those issues are overshadowed with: * Larger and higher variable refresh rate screen. * Vastly better audio and speakers. * Improved performance. * Backwards compatibility. * Better Joycons with a Mouse feature.
I absolutely loved Breath of the Wild and even though I owned Tears of the Kingdom on Switch, ended up putting the game down as I just couldn't manage the poor performance which was significantly worse than Breath of the Wilds already poor framerate. - So I will probably jump into that after I have my fun with Mario Kart World. In saying that, I will argue games like Metroid Prime 4 will look better on the Switch OLED which will showcase the extremely contrasty visuals far better.
I also have a PowerA battery case for the Switch, I haven't tried it yet, but I am hoping it will fit onto the Switch 2 and double my battery life. |
Nah I'm sure it will still look better on Switch 2 even with the worse screen because of the lower resolution and lower image quality it has on Switch 1. Even though it looks good for a Switch 1 game, it has a bit of a washed out and blurry look compared to Switch 2. It will definately make for an interesting comparison that's for sure and if it does look better on Switch OLED than Switch 2 than I think Nintendo have made a mistake with the Switch 2 screen they chose.
