Over three years ago I ordered a fiber optic internet connection (1,000 Mbps)... this week it was FINALLY activated!
Yesterday I tested it wireless (the router is in the first floor, my main PC is in the second floor):

Today I connected the PC and router with a 10-meter ethernet cable (temporarily laid through the two windows):

I'm still not sure if the additional speed is worth drilling through the floor to lay a permanent ethernet cable from 2nd to 1st floor.
Currently 500+ Mbps is fast enough for me and in a few years I could upgrade the Wi-Fi-6 router to a Wi-Fi-7 router with 6 GHz compatibility.
