Personally I do think larger development budgets are a legitimate reason to charge more for a game.
But it's not always apparent to the average consumer how the development cost of one game differs from another.

Well that's clearly not working out when 1.) other countries raise tarriffs on the U.S. in return, because 2.) a trade deficit can never be equal when one country is 100 times richer than another and has the means to import 100 times more than the average worker from Bangladesh, and 3.) all of these extra costs are passed on to the consumer, as always.
