| Shinobi-san said: As a South African, it was pretty insane to watch the press conference from the white house with our president. I'm not even sure what the angle is here or to what effect my countrymen have played into the supposed genocide in SA. Seems like a retaliation on SA foreign policy, I just wish they would be upfront about it. |
Yeah it's likely driven by Aipac, discredit South Africa to undermine their case at the ICJ. Of course the ICJ won't buy it, nor anyone else outside MAGA idiots. It's typical Israel tactics, discredit, misdirect, lie and spread disinformation. Trump is easily played.
And as someone born in The Netherlands, my sincere apologies for my Dutch ancestors inventing apartheid. Something that was not taught in our schools, entire slave trade by the VOC skipped over, as well as the Boer wars and only teaching about the spice trade without mentioning the Dutch occupation and massacres in Indonesia. The first time I found out about Canada fighting the Dutch in the Boer Wars was during a school trip, I went along on as volunteer, visiting the Canadian war museum. Never too old to learn. (I'm Canadian now)
Anyway South Africa knows what apartheid looks like as well as genocide. Herero and Nama genocide, perpetrated by the German occupation. are looking similar to what is happening in Gaza now. Starvation as a weapon of war. History just keeps repeating itself :(
The angle is to discredit South Africa. No surprise from the USA that still supported apartheid not even 40 years ago.
