It was perfectly obvious what was going to happen, a Selenski-style "meeting". Trump more than signaled it with his comments about "white genocide" the days and weeks ahead of the "meeting". The African president should have been thoroughly prepared for what Trump was going to do and how to counterattack. I don't think South Africa is that dependent on the US so there was a good chance to play tit-for-tat and not play the "I'm sorry card". Unlike Selenski, who is in a bad spot in whatever he might be confronted with, the SA president was in a good spot to embarass Trump in every way possible.
