It's a nice extra layer of glazing, but not mandatory for me, even with a very powerful rig. On average, the cost of performance doesn't match the increase in visual fidelity. Some games looks amazing with RT on, while others barely change at all, it's a mixed bag. For all the hype behind it, RT hasn't done all that much for mainstream gaming since it was first touted. Titles like Indiana Jones show what's possible with it though, Cyberpunk 2077 also has really impressive RT. CP 2077 is the only game where I felt I couldn't play with RT off due to its impact on the overall image and immersion.
