Full list of cuts.
Surprising cuts:
- Cora Jade - Easily the most surprising cut by far since most people were expecting her to move up to RAW alongside Roxanne Perez. She's more or less the total package, she's great in the ring, great on the mic, and can do both babyface and heel very well. She's also one of the youngest people they had on the roster. But she had two major injuries recently (leg and concussion). Giulia replaced her as Roxanne's tag partner after her last injury. She was better than 90% of the main roster women. But, she can go anywhere in pro-wrestling, and will likely make it back to WWE sooner rather than later.
- Dakota Kai - A very promising wrestler who the fans connected with, was good all around, but had some injuries. Sometimes I wonder if the more hard hitting style of NXT wears these talents out before they get to RAW or Smackdown where they tend to wrestle at a much slower pace on average.
- Braun Strowman - Dude was done dirty. He made Fatu a massive star by doing the job for him right after putting over Bronson Reed.
- Gigi Dolan - A weird cut, IMO she worked really well with Tatum Paxley and Shotzi Blackheart and this was one of the most visually stunning teams WWE has ever had. There were a lot who I'd cut before her. She was one of the, if not the most physically attractive wrestler in all of WWE. IMO, though, her current Gigi Dolin persona/gimmick is a downgrade from PK. She'll be PK again when the non-compete runs out, and she won't have issue finding work.
- Carter and Chance - an under-utilized tag team they didn't really put them in storylines. Lots of athleticism and knew their way around the ring. Not sure if Katana really had the right attitude for pro-wrestling, though. She always seemed like she was there for fun rather than competition - but IMO, she has all the tools necessary to be a major star in Japan.
- Eddy Thorpe - this guy is generally good, but never had good writing behind him and wasn't in NXT for very long, he kinda just got there. Poor creative direction for him, they would have a vignette, and then he'd have 2-3 matches, then would be gone... then another vignette, and the same thing. Lots of disconnected stories.
- Jakara Jackson - they broke up the tag team on the last NXT, and then she's just gone. I figured she'd have an interesting singles career, I guess WWE disagreed.
The less surprising ones:
- Shayna Baszler - I think the writing was on the wall when they cut Sonya Deville. IMO, her and Dakota Kai and Eddie Thorpe will end up as a group in TNA as a thruple. While not surprising that she as cut, I wouldn't have been surprised if she stuck around either. She recently signed a new contract, and it seemed like she was going to transition into a trainer role.
- Wolfgang and the Coffey brothers (Gallus) - The last I remember these guys being important was in NXT UK... speaking of which, where is the NXT Europe they were supposed to rebrand NXT UK as? But anyway, a good amount of wasted potential over a very long time period.
- Riley Osborne - not surprising, he didn't do much ring work and mostly just appeared in vignettes with Chase U. The only thing odd is they have recently resurrected Chase U, and I guess he won't be a part of that.
- Oro Mensah - again, mostly appeared in vignettes. Not a surprising cut based on what has been shown.
- Javier Bernal - a Level Up performer, I'm not familiar with this guy.
I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.
