Not surprising but until now I was still hopeful that a 2nd trailer for it was around the corner. PS5 and Xbox Series sales will obviously be worse this year now but better next year so it's a wash. Most people should more than ever tone down their expectations for its immediate impact on hardware sales though. It should cause a big boost for some weeks but then it'll quickly taper off since by mid 2026 over 75% of people who'll buy a PS5 or Xbox Series will have already done so thus the vast majority of people who'll play it on those platforms will already have one. Hell it could even get delayed another few months exacerbating that further.
Another thing is that talk of future Xbox and Playstation hardware should start ramping up next year so now the gen 10 remaster could come out just 1-2 years later and potentially not far from the PC version. Also 2025 is now unfortunately not as crazy a year for gaming any more but 2026 will now be significantly bigger with GTA 6 and the first full calendar year of the Switch 2 both happening. Still rough for the industry though since many will have been really hoping for GTA 6 this year.
