Yes, the only thing they have in common is that they were sold out before they were released in the US.

But the term “sold out” can mean different things if the amount of inventory is different.
Bloomberg estimates that the Switch 2's initial shipments will be between 6 and 8 million, a number that is said to be the largest in console history, so clearly different from the Wii U.
