well Riachu....I love anime....but here ya go
1. alot of anime is very shallow and just a means to show some girls panties (i.e. Strike Witches, where girls where these rockets on their legs, which apparently bar them from wearing pants, and when they put the rockets on their legs they all sprout cat ears and tails....I mean c'mon)
2. cultural differences, alot of dislike towards the medium can arise from just differences in taste, and certain plot elements in Anime that are assumed known but that don't really carry over to the American audience.
3. overuse of teen protaganits: most animes use teens as their focus, because that's the audience they are really trying to appeal to (there are notable exceptions however)
4. perceived nerdiness: Anime is thought of as hugely nerdy, so some dislike it simply because they do not want to be grouped into that fanbase of nerds. (personally I have embraced my nerdiness....but not everyone is so enlightened :P)
5. lack of exposure to good anime (such as appears to be the case with Kurakasa)
