With the launch of Switch 2 a month and a half away, more game announcements are sure to come. Some of the biggest 3rd-party games of recent years have already been announced to be coming to Nintendo's newest consoles, such as Elden Ring, Cyberpunk, Hogwarts Legacy, and Street Fighter 6. But many more games that seem like obvious choices have not yet been announced. Which games do you think are the most likely or would you most want to see make the jump to Switch 2?
My list:
The most recent Resident Evil games. 7, 8, and the remakes of 2 and 4 seem like incredibly obvious choices, so much so that I'm surprised Capcom's first game is Street Fighter and none of them have been announced yet. Switch 2 is definitely strong enough to run all 4 of those games that were fine on the PS4, and the addition of mouse mode and gyro controls will greatly benefit them.
Doom The Dark Ages: Id's Doom games and Wolfenstein 2 were pretty good on Switch 1 and the gyro aiming was great. The newest Doom game may need similar graphical downgrades as the last 2, but if Switch 1 could get Doom Eternal at a consistent 30 FPS I don't see why Dark Ages should skip Switch 2.
Batman Arkham Knight. After the disaster that was the Switch 1 version of this game, it desperately needs a playable version on Switch 2.
Marvel's Midnight Suns. An unlikely choice, but it would make up for the cancellation of the game's Switch 1 version and I'd love to have my Magik simulator on Nintendo and not just Steam Deck.
Mass Effect Legendary Edition + Balder's Gate 3. Mouse controls would be great for all of these, and the only Mass Effect game available on a Nintendo console is 3 for the Wii U.
Star Wars Jedi Survivor series - hopefully with an option for motion-controlled lightsaber combat. If not, just release that Rogue Squadron collection that was completed for the Wii and had motion-plus lightsaber fights. Up-res it, transfor the controls to the joycons, and call it a day.
