I have 3 total docks (2 from Nintendo & 1 from third party). One dock is hooked to my loft TV, another in my bedroom, and the last one on my desk along with my laptop. Also playing on a couch with the mouse in your lap is very viable.

Would not using it on my lap be very unreliable? Other mice need a firm flat and often lightly colored surface to work accurately.
