Minecraft was such a fun and genuinely funny movie! Kids loved it alright but I don't think it's completely fair to say it's a movie just for kids. Some of the writing had that silly 80s/90s style to make parents feel nostalgic. The movie didn't take itself seriously for a second and it works.

Or maybe I'm just not cool enough to see how cringle it is lol.

A bunch of teenagers were repeating all the meme lines like 'Chicken Jockey!' and 'flint 'n steel!' heh yeah it was fun. Go see it.

Oh, I didn't mean to say that adults can't enjoy it or it's only for kids, only that it's more of a kids-teen focused audience, but there are obviously going to be some adults, especially those who grew up with Minecraft, who have fun with it and understand all the references as well. Adults can still enjoy videogames and films which are focused more on a kid-teen audience.

Personally, I have zero interest in seeing it in theatres, I don't really care about when I see it, I'll probably just watch it on streaming when I have nothing else to do and see if I have some fun with it, I don't think it looks amazing but maybe it has some funny moments but it's definitely not a "See ASAP" film for me and I have over 1,000 hours in Minecraft and played all the spinoffs.

But I don't really care if it doesn't appeal that much to me, seeing the kids love it is enough for me, 5/7 of my niblings are going to see it, my niece went to see it with a few friends and they all loved it, if they loved it then who am I to tell them that they're wrong and should feel bad and now the videogame adaptation industry is doomed because they went out to see it, Lmao.

And I like to remember back when I was a kid and there was movies back then that I loved which adults shit all over.
