There's a good chance Nintendo could be completely unaffected by tariffs and still choose to increase the price, just to squeeze more out of early adopters. It would be blatant corporate profiteering, but people are so obssessed with politics as long as Nintendo vaguely allude to Trump they can probably get away with it.
They might enjoy the irony of not being blamed for a move that is actually excessively greedy.
