Switch 2 is completely different hardware and requires it's games to run on faster storage. I assumed the 'upgrade pack' was literally just a Switch 2 port running natively from internal storage.

It's posible but as all the "Switch 2 Editions" are Switch 1 games with upgrades it could be similar to the "gen9 aware" titles on Xbox Series. Those titles like Forza Horizon 4 are upgraded to 4k60 etc, but can be run off a USB HDD still unlike actual Series X games, so they don't require faster storage.

BOTW does advertise better loading speeds but the CPU and extra ram could accomplish that for those that don't have it fully installed to the internal with the digital copy...
