Yes if your argument is that Killzone has better textures and materials I think comparing textures and materials for similar assets by their objective qualities (like resolution and detail) is how you do determine that.

Just going off vibes is not how we do these comparisons because vibes are not objective. Things like art-style, animation quality, and scripting style affect people's "vibes."

If Killzone indeed has better textures, you can find a texture (for a similar asset) that has higher detail/resolution to make that argument.

If it is a mixed comparison (some assets have worse texture quality), then no the game doesn't look "way better" in anything but a subjective stance.

I didn't cherry pick that example either.

Your original statement was that Killzone has better textures, materials, and particle effects. This is a falsifiable statement that can be supported (or falsified) with evidence.

Look, I don't believe that arbitrarily chosen "parts" of images of different sizes and resolutions are suitable for comparison.

I'm not one of the experts at Digital Foudry, but when I watch Prime 4 and compare it to Killzone Shadowfall, I conclude that Killzone is more beautiful and graphically impressive.

To me, a game that is 10+ years old is visually more impressive than Prime 4. That's why I say that the visuals of this game look dated and not impressive.

Just look at this:

If you Tell me "Prime 4 looks better" i realy don't know what to say. Killzone Just have better visuals, no doubt.

Okay, so your conclusion isn't based on "better textures, materials and particles." It is based on your subjective impression of the game looking better. That's fair, but again I want to point out that subjective impressions are just that.

My partner who is new to games thinks BOTW is a better looking game than many other games that are technically better mostly because the horse animations are more accurate.

That is the difficulty of looking at "the whole picture" a lot more goes into the presentation than the fidelity of the graphical features.
