I’m fine with the price of the console, although I would have preferred lower specs, a lower price tag, and a “who cares” attitude toward AAA third-party games.
As for the games, it’s not great. If they had gone $60 and $70 instead of $70 and $80, I think most people would be grumpy but quiet. The extra $10 is a big jump psychologically, especially since we are all just getting used to $70. I can only assume Nintendo saw the writing on the wall and wanted to get ahead of the market — instead of raising prices mid-generation.
All that said, video games in general and Nintendo games in particular are very dear to me, so I will suck it up and pay the prices. Life is short and I’m fortunate to have the disposable income.
I’ll most likely buy fewer games, though.
