People are really overstating the price increase.
At this point in its life, PS4 was $299-399 depending on model while PS5 is $449-699 depending on model and pretty much keeping pace with PS4 sales.
At this point, Xbox One was $299-499 depending on model while Xbox Series is $299-499 depending on model and is not keeping pace with Xbox One sales.
The one with a big price increase is close to matching last generation sales while the one with the same price is not doing as well as last generation.
When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.
