Going by online vibes and the opinions of gamers is probably the worst thing you can do. Going by those metrics the switch pokemon games would be the worst selling in the series history instead of the 2nd and 3rd best. Or assassin's creed shadows would be bombing instead of having one of the biggest launches in the series history.
I do think the switch 2 will likely sell significantly less than the 1st but I very highly doubt it will be anywhere close to a Wii U situation.
