Not sure where you live so can't really comment.
In Australia, NES games used to cost $99 in the early 90s
Switch 1st party games cost around $90 AUD.
Switch 2 games seem to be $109 AUD to $120 AUD if using a 64gb cart.
So to us the increase in a 30 year span is nothing when out disposable income is significantly more than in early 90s.
I am sure the US stupid TRUMP taxes have had an impact on this too somewhat,
