Couldn't help myself and got spoiled on the Direct while at work. But I finally got some time to sit down, watch it, and somewhat digest it.

And I honestly felt a bit underwhelmed. Nintendo's first party presence wasn't as heavy as I expected, and honestly, I think having a Direct almost a week ago was a marketing misstep. Having Switch 2 versions of Metroid Prime 4 and Pokemon Legends ZA would've been huge, and easily bumped this showing up for me by at least a point. We got so many third party games shown, that have already released, rather than upcoming third party games that are coming out. I will say though, Mario Kart World, while not exactly my cup of tea, did look incredible from a technical perspective. And Donkey Kong Bananza blew me away! Easily the game of the show.

It seems like Nintendo wants to push NSO adoption harder in the Switch 2 generation. Game Chat isn't really my thing but it does look like a fun feature to use. And I'm actually really hyped for the GameCube catalog. An exclusive From Software title was shocking, but not as shocking as finding out its a multiplayer based game lol. Seems a bit counter intuitive to have it exclusive to Nintendo of all platforms, but its a somewhat serious move to drive NSO subscriptions. They need to modernize their online platform some more if they want those PlayStation Plus numbers.
