Nintendo is charging an extra $10 for physical to compel its players to move to digital. They would make more profits from a $70 digital game than a $80 physical. Chris Dring just revealed that in Europe the average Switch full game has a physical rate of about 80%, which is bad for Nintendo.
Major 3rd parties don't need to do that as the vast majority of their sales are digital anyways. But who knows, they might still end up copying Nintendo to accelerate transition to digital.
