Intel will concentrate on integrated graphics going forward I guess; they never had the cash to begin with and needed their GPUs to be a massive success, which they are not.

Developing a competitive GPU architecture is a long term investement that requires years to begin seeing a return. Intel knew that going in. Celestial was supposed to be the architecture that Intel was going to start making money with. However Alchemist missed its launch date by basically a year. They've yet to and likely won't right the ship. Intel's three CEOs prior to Pat Gelsinger were bean counters with a business background and they didn't invest enough of Intel's massive, at the time, warchest into R&D. That lack of investment resulted in their foundries flounding and their CPU division faceplanting. Honestly, Intel should have been in the GPU space. Instead of coasting they should be investing. The time for Intel to enter the CPU market was when AMD was near bankruptcy and Nvidia wasn't even thinking about CPUs.
