🔥 2 MILLION PLAYERS! 🔥

We're thrilled to celebrate this incredible milestone!

Assassin's Creed Shadows has now surpassed the launches of AC Origins and Odyssey. Thank you for joining the journey in Feudal Japan!

Another AC milestone for the haters to desperately spin as a negative 👀

Here are some of the launch stats I was able to find for AC games:

  • AC1- 1.1m in 7 days
  • AC2- 1.6m in 7 days
  • AC Brotherhood- 1m sales in less than 1 week
  • AC Revelations- No exact number revealed at launch, Ubisoft initially said they were expecting a double digit decline compared to Brotherhood based on preorders, but then later stated first month sales were up 10% over Brotherhood. Ubisoft later stated that AC3 doubled AC Revelations launch while estimating AC3 sales at 3.5m, so half that would mean 1.7m for Revelations
  • AC3- 3.5m in the first week
  • AC4- First week sales down 60% from AC3, so 1.4m
  • AC Unity and Rogue- No launch week sales provided by Ubisoft, all we know is they sold a combined 10m during their launch Holiday, so about first 7 weeks of sales
  • AC Syndicate- No launch week sales provided by Ubisoft, all we know is that first week in the UK was the 2nd lowest in the series up to that point above only AC Rogue, and that it sold 4.1m copies in 3 months
  • AC Origins- First 10 days sales were double Syndicate, but no exact amount released
  • AC Odyssey- No exact launch sales were provided, though Ubisoft stated that it's launch had outperformed all other 8th gen AC games released before it (so Origins, Syndicate, and Unity)
  • AC Valhalla- Stated by Ubisoft to have the highest launch sales in the whole franchise, though no exact numbers were given, though the fact they stated launch sales and not launch players suggests it exceeded the 3.5m launch week of AC3. 1.8m unique players were stated to have won a drinking game in the first week after launch in an infographic Ubisoft released (not all that buy a game start it immediately after buying it, especially in the Holiday season when copies are bought for gifts to go under a Christmas tree, so sales would have been well above the in-game 1.8m players who won a drinking game)
  • AC Mirage- No exact sales or player figures ever given by Ubisoft to my knowledge, though Ubisoft claimed player counts at launch were in line with Origins and Odyssey, though below Valhalla. Reliable industry insider Tom Henderson estimated 5m players in the first 3 months.
  • AC Shadows- 1.8m players in less than 3 days

Edit: Disregard what I said about Ubisoft's AC Valhalla and AC3 statements contradicting one another, the wikipedia page for AC Valhalla had a bad source claiming 1.8m players, which was not an official Ubisoft statement but a poorly extrapolated and inaccurate total player count claim from an infographic Ubisoft released. Removed the language about contradictory statements.
