Story has never been important to me for Doom. How many people legit give a fuck about the lore of Doom? Doom is Guns go boom and Demons go splat. One reason I could not stand Eternal is that it focuses so much on the story. Doom 2016 mocked that idea of exposition and too much story. It had one of course but it didn't drag it out like Eternal did.
