I'd go with Wii as the best because it introduced multiplayer and the helicopter power-up is great. U is the next best, but the formula was already old by then and that gliding squirrel power-up sucked. The original was ok and it was great to have the series back, but the game's structure was bad. And "2" was easily the most forgettable for me.
None of them can hold a candle to the original 2D games though, unless you count the true SMB2, which is terrible.
