China imposed tariffs on a broad variety of U.S. food exports early Tuesday, responding swiftly to the Trump administration's latest tariffs and escalating a global dispute that has rattled governments and international trade. China's finance ministry announced 15 percent tariffs on imports of chicken, wheat, corn and cotton from the United States, as well as 10 percent tariffs on imports of sorghum, soybeans, pork, beef, aquatic products, fruits, vegetables and dairy products.

Canada: 25% on C$30B Worth of U.S. Goods Effective Immediately (Will Increase to C$155B After 21 Days)

Trudeau said in the statement tariffs on C$30 ($20.80 billion) of U.S. imports would take effect immediately, and more tariffs could follow. The retaliation amount was the same as in the February announcement, though he did not give details on which goods would be impacted. Canada will impose 25% tariffs on C$30 billion in goods imported from the U.S. effective immediately. The duties will remain in place until the U.S. eliminates its tariffs against Canada.
