To be fair, shooters are also being held up by decades-old IPs. The industry as a whole is largely held up by decades-old IPs (Mario, Sonic, Call of Duty, Grand Theft Auto). Minecraft is almost 16, Roblox is almost 20 years old, and Fortnite is going to be 10 years old in a couple of years.
