To be clear they only discontinued recordable blu-rays, nothing is happening to the normal stuff yet. Saying that you totally contradicted what I said is pretty silly when I literally said Sony will absolutely deprioritize physical if they keep it and that I think it's a possibility they might forgo it all together. There's really not much disagreement here so I don't get the justification for that.
For why I think it's more likely they'll keep it it's cause there will be a notable amount of backlash if they forgo it and it won't cost them much to offer it in a deprioritized way. Physical does still have a notable presence on Playstation so it'd kinda early but it'll very likely be gone for the PS7 since a decade from now physical should be tiny even on Playstation.
