Occasionally, yes. The first Kingdom Hearts comes to mind as possibly the most recent example, but I wanted to know what it's about and get to the next game(s) in the series, and I typically want to play the games of each series in order. I'm sure the game was great 20+ years ago, but it really had some poor design choices (and camera, which, I guess, isn't that surprising for such an old game).
