Thought I might add a bit more to the rock song collection I started in the OP today.
The first addition is the KoRn klassic Freak on a Leash as sung stunningly well by an 8-year-old girl.
Speaking of covers, I'll also add an incredible bagpipe cover of Shipping Up to Boston and Enter Sandman.
Next up, some progressive rock from Mastadon that I find moving.
(Sorry, I guess you'll have to click on the link for that one. I hate it when bands disable playback on other sites. Don't worry, the song is worth it!)
For something completely different, here is something called hyperpop metalcore. In contrast to most other songs I'm posting today, this one feels very Zoomer. It's got that manic TikTok energy that I associate with today's internet culture and a savage revenge theme that's bound to continue the cherished hard rock tradition of upsetting parents everywhere. It's insane, visceral fun.
Since we're on rage tunes...
Since we're in the '90s now, here's something else I like from that time frame. The young lady giving off little-sister-messing-with-everyone vibes in this video is Kathleen Hanna, the lead singer for the classic riot grrl band Bikini Kill. She does an admirable job of making the video funny.
This is a newer song I like, but feels very '90s:
I'll close this out with a cool punk song I discovered through a Tony Hawk game:
Hope ya enjoyed!
