Pointer or gyro aiming?

I prefer being able to point have my hand pointing anywhere as a starting position. I actually like being able to calibrating it. My favorite is the combination used in Wii motion plus units. Findable with pointer through IR and higher sensitivity with gyro. But If I had to choose I prefer gyro.
