If only Europe had the balls to force Putin's plane down. But even France just opened their air space for Netanyahu to fly to the US and back.
Heck air space should be closed indefinitely until Russia gets out of Ukraine. As long as business > people's lives, nothing will change.
Meanwhile Trump has already extended the deadline for Israel to pull out of Lebanon, which Netanyahu wants to extend further again. (They were supposed to be out of Lebanon on January 25th, now February 18th) Jet fighters are buzzing over Beirut again today. The Israeli cabinet is approving going back to full scale war in Gaza with the green light from Trump who changed the ceasefire deal into the impossible, release all hostages this Saturday or back to war. And Trump reversed the few sanctions on terrorist settlers and entities, giving his full support for further annexation of the West Bank.
So much for Peace President, the only thing he's successful in is uniting the Arab world against the USA.
Of course there never was intent to continue the ceasefire, the aid never fully came through, unreasonable restrictions are still hindering as much as before the ceasefire, plus the aid quickly dwindled down again after the first few days. Daily violations by Israel go on ignored, with the US as guarantor there are no guarantees nor restrictions for Putin / Netanyahu. The ceasefire was just a PR stunt for Trump, a few weeks stay of execution for 2 million Gazans while 3 million people in the West Bank are still under fire.
It will be same with Ukraine. Accepting a ceasefire will just mean Russia can continue destroying where they are now, just like Israel keeps destroying Southern Lebanon and parts of Syria. The only difference will be Ukraine won't be allowed to defend themselves any longer.
