DKCR's controls in the Wii Version sucked, and the performance/resolution sucked on the 3DS (Functional but it was lacking that polish to get it working on the handheld), but the Switch HD Version has got me back in love with it.

I just did the "100%" Run (All levels, all KONG letters, all Puzzle pieces, no mirror or time trials, I hate those modes) and yeah, shocked at how much I loved it. As time passed I thought I resented it or that it didn't hold up; I was wrong! I love when that happens. Go back to an older game that you think hasn't aged well to be proven wrong and that it holds up remarkably well. that's DKCR and Tropical Freeze for me. 

That is quite the challenge.  We'll done. 

Tempted to buy this, but wondering if I should just replay the Wii version I already own or replay tropical freeze on Wii U. I don't remember being too bothered by the controls and I for some reason enjoy busting out older consoles now and again.

Get this version. The Wii's Waggle tech was garbage and almost made me give up on the game. now it's back in my favourite game list once that issue was corrected.
