Long ago, I heard of Nazi events translated as being "jamborees" and so I have held that association ever since :D

It's a boy Scout thing. Essentially a gathering of different scout groups. Still happens every year. But then the Hitler Jügend, did dress up like boy Scouts, so that is that.
