Man, I was so looking forward to go to New York in just three weeks. I booked all the stuff last year already, and I was convinced Kamala Harris would win the election. But now with the way things are going, I don't know if I can take the trip with a good feeling anymore. I know not everybody in the states is like trump and especially NY is leaning to the left as I heard. But I still don't want to support that shitty excuse for a government one bit. Luckily I booked a hotel that I can always cancel and get my money back. Can't do that with my flight, but that's just a few hundred bucks and it is money that is going towards a german company. Anyway, I don't know what to do and I'm looking for advice. What would you guys advise?

To your dilemma, New York is fighting as hard as it can. I would go if I were you.

I'm the opposite. I enjoyed my time in Canada last year, and would like to go back and visit again. I have a buddy in London. After what Trump is doing to Canada, I don't feel like I would be welcome there, except maybe in Alberta. God knows I see enough snowbirds with Alberta plates from October to April.

We're well aware there's a big divide in the US, so as long as you don't spout nonsense like Canada should become a state, Americans are more then welcome here. Political asylum included lol.

My wife did 'clean up' her contact list again with Trump back in power. Over 100 people deleted, not worth the time arguing, smaller customer base is fine. Plenty of reasonable Americans left. Over half the country are victims of Trump as well. In the end 155 million people voted (90 million out of 245 million legible voters didn't vote), less than 80 million voted for trump out of 335 million population.
