I really hope the corporations eat some of the tariff costs. It would be awful to pay 25% more for items from Canada and Mexico and 10% from China.
The USA is still the largest video game market (with China very close) so I hope we don't feel the full 10%. But it's not out of the question now for Switch 2 to be around $450 in the USA before any sales tax is added because of tariffs. That or Switch 2 will still be around $400 and other countries will be punished because of the USA's own meddling. PS5 has held steady in pricing in the USA (before these tariffs) yet Sony has raised the price in other countries.

Alot of physical disc for games are made in mexico right?
This is gonna cause the physical medium to go up in price... and watch them raise the price of the digital copies as well (for no reason other than greed).

Im so glad trump is president, hes making all the right moved to bring america back!. I dont care if games go up. America first is the most imporant thing

25% tarifs might bring back some farming jobs...
However its not magically going to make more crud oil appear in the US, or have it be easier/cheaper than finding metals in canada.

So it might work on some stuff, while not on others.
This "american first" thing, is about Jobs right? Thats why trump says hes doing it.
Well... for the price on foods from mexico to go up by 25%... thats gonna mean higher food prices in stores.
(your grocery bill just went up) (as if inflation isn't bad enough already... lets add a small trade war too it)

Down the line, like 5-10 years from now, maybe theres a few more american farmers, as a result of these tarifs if he chooses to keep them that long.
Meanwhile you get 5-10 years of paying more every time you go shopping, if you don't want to change your eating habits (if you consumed things that came from mexico).
