The pandemic only helped. But Switch started constantly outpacing it since then. I am not saying it happened because of that. There are many reasons. But it's started from that point, outpacing it every single month.

It wasn't just the pandemic though, as that point in time also saw the release of Switch's second biggest game ever, Animal Crossing, which became a breakout sensation and a huge killer app.
