I pre-ordered my Nintendo 64 - and still first got it six weeks after launch because the store where I ordered only received batches of two or three consoles at a time and apparently there were others that had pre-ordered before me. Oh the wait...
I pre-ordered my Series X - I had an idea the Series consoles might be XBOX's last traditional console generation and thus wanted to celebrate the console launch as much as possible and once more pre-ordered. It arrived late afternoon on launch day.
Every other console or handheld I ever owned I just walked into the store and picked it up, and I'll do the same for Switch 2.
